Suddenly you find valuable materials that have long been denied life. And it is precisely these materials that we take on and breathe new life into.

Every single piece of CAUCHEMAR is developed and handcrafted in our studio in Zurich from natural materials we source ourselves locally. The materials come from overstock, deadstock, remnants or whatever unflattering name they are punished with. What we make out of them are carefully crafted accessories and objects, always following the design approach that the material dictates form and function.
We do not want to be tied to the rhythm of the fashion industry, nor do we want to emulate the endless abundance of it's big well known players. That is why we do not carry a stock, so each piece is made to order. In addition, the collections are always limited: Not an artificial trend factor is behind it, but the naturally given limitation of the material.

Craftsmanship takes it's time: An incredible amount of development, planning and passion goes into a CAUCHEMAR piece before it is even realized. The first touch of scissors, the first stitch of a needle - every step in the process takes a lot of thought and precision to deliver you your perfect item. That's why we're even more thrilled when you decide to live that adventurous dream with us.
